ScentLok has a new set of jacket and pants designed for scent control and specifically with the saddle hunter in mind. While the science behind the garments is extraordinary, what’s important to hunters is that it can legitimately absorb odors in the field, while maintaining comfort and function. The garments were designed with the help of Michigan whitetail fanatic John Eberhart who has 35 record book bucks to his credit, most from public land. Eberhart hunts almost exclusively from a saddle – the harness device that can suspend a hunter from a tree trunk, avoiding noise. Since conventional hunting clothes left much to be desired when saddle hunting, in 2021, ScentLok and Eberhart collaborated on a design for ScentLok’s Saddle Hunter suit, an insulated, late-season rig, specifically for saddle hunters. ScentLok and Eberhart collaborated again on the new Midweight Saddle Hunter jacket and pants, designed for the needs of saddle hunters in temperatures from 25 to 55 degrees. The midweight line offers a quiet, micro-tricot shell with a diamond-shaped fleece lining, Carbon Alloy odor control, Superhydrophobic Precip-X treatment to shed moisture, an internal webbed belt with a ladder buckle, articulated knees with removable internal foam knee pads for extra comfort against the tree, and knee-high leg zippers. The midweight Saddle Hunter jacket and pants are available in Mossy Oak Terra Outland. MSRP is $179.99, for sizes small to large, and $189.99 for 2X to 3X large. Visit www.scentlok.com.

Northland Fishing Tackle has a new walleye-oriented bait, the Pitchin’ Puppet. The Pitchin’ Puppet features a lead frame with an over-molded resin exterior and fin, giving it a translucent baitfish appearance with exceptional durability. When jigged, snapped or ripped, the Pitchin’ Puppet darts and rolls to trigger strikes. A wide-gap rear hook – and absence of a front nose hook – make this lure perfect for darting across the bottom. And the split-ring connected treble hook keeps fish pinned all the way back to the boat. “The Pitchin’ Puppet is a fantastic search bait, covering a lot of water super-fast,” says fishing guide Brian “Bro” Brosdahl. “They cast a long way with their aerodynamic dart shape, even cutting the wind. And when it hits the water, the bait dives fast to the bottom. You can glide the Pitchin’ Puppet on its way to the bottom by just sweeping the rod tip.” Once on the bottom gravel and rock, Brosdahl gives it a couple rips to garner attention. Otherwise, he simply hops it back to the boat, employing pops instead of powerful rips. The Pitchin’ Puppet comes in 15 colors and three sizes: 2-inch (5/16 ounce), 2-3/8-inch (5/8 ounce) and 2-3/4-inch (1 ounce). MSRP is $9.99 each. Visit northlandtackle.com.
Burris is growing its Veracity PH riflescope lineup with three new models boasting a shorter and lighter design, expanded power factor offerings, two new reticle designs, and an improved optical system extra-low dispersion (ED) glass. Earlier Veracity PH scopes effectively eliminated bullet drop compensation for long distance shots with a dial-to-distance clickless digital elevation turret and integrated display. Burris engineers upgraded the Veracity PH to reduce weight and size. The revised 4-20x 50mm, 3 – 15x 44mm and 2.5 – 12x 42mm Veracity PH models are shorter and lighter than previous models, making them ideal for mountain rifles and carbines. Burris says Veracity PH riflescopes are the perfect choice for hunters who want a fast, simple means to compensate for bullet drop. MSRP is $1,320 – $1,560, depending on the model.
